Daily Sketch Studies Experiment

The Concept

The idea is an experimental challenge from my good friend, Nick Jainschigg. He proposed an idea of what would happen if you posted a sketch out on the web everyday for a few months. I took up the gauntlet and started thinking logistics. It immediately became obvious to me that the hardest part was going to be being able to come up with a fresh idea everyday. This would become a major obstacle as time progressed. However, after I did the first sketch, the problem resolved itself. The first image turned out to be a fantastical storyteller. I am going to follow suit and relate a story through my daily sketches. Simplicity itself. The storyline is largely stream of consciousness. One goal here is not so much to be the creator but the chronicler of the story as it is unfolded to me one small piece at a time. An endeavor with which to explore various ideas, ink techniques with a bit of storytelling on the side.

There is no text with these images so the interpretation of what is happening over time is left to you to provide. I have already have a 2 month backlog of sketches done for those days when I simply cannot meet the goal. These sketches are done on a 10 x 10 heavy brown stock not unlike the color of paper shopping bags. So, my only concession to the computer is that I gray-scaled the the images instead of trying to get the paper color correct every time I did a scan. If you are interested in owning one of these, drop me a line and tell me which number you desire . They are 40 USD per.

I will be posting images daily on my blog and the website. I will be posting on various art sites every 3rd to 4th day.

These are great fun! I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
